My amazing mom, Faye, is lucky enough to call France her second home. This year, Faye and her longtime beau Gilbert, invited me, my husband Ben, my brother Ken, her brother Mort and his gorgeous wife Allyson, to join them at a magnificant villa in Cape Antibes, along the French Riviera.
The incredible fresh markets were a near daily draw. Food shopping was not a chore but an adventure. When we weren't eating or drinking, our travels took us to Cannes, the home of the famous Cannes Film Festival and Monte Carlo where the rich are rich and the locals are richer still!
The French are all about the food and wine. We ate at several Michelin starred restaurants and when we weren't eating out we were cooking in the adorable french kicthen back at the villa.
One afternoon, we dressed up and dined at the breathtaking Hotel-Du-Cap-Eden-Roc. The views were spectaular and the food top notch. We had a blast!
We also managed a round of golf at the private Bastido Du Roy Golf Course where the views were beyond gorgeous.
Toward the end of the trip, Ben and I stole away to my parents apartment in Paris. We strolled through the brick and cobblestone streets, taking in the enormous history Paris has to offer. We toured Nore Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
Our amazing journey ended with a romantic boat ride down the River Seine, where we celebrated Ben's birthday.
It was a family vacation we will never forget.
