Just buy something they will like. Duh.
Research study out of Univ. of Cincinnati that when gift givers got too specific with their gift cards, the recipients weren't happy. But when they gave them a general gift card (one that was easy to use) they loved it.
Lesson: Don't get too specific.
Show you are thinking about them and include a personal note/ card... but gift them with something that is easy to use.
