With Tropical Storm Dorian churning in the Caribbean, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is urging people to "prepare for impacts."
As Central Florida continues to monitor the path of Dorian, counties and cities are organizing locations for residents to pick up sandbags before the storm.
Orange County will distribute pre-made sandbags to residents on Friday and Saturday at the following locations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

Sandbags will be provided to Ocoee residents only. Sand will be available at 301 Maguire Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Maitland will begin distributing sandbags at 12 p.m. on Thursday. City residents will be able to pick up 10 bags per person until 7 p.m. at Maitland Community Park, 1400 Mayo Avenue.
Bags will be provided starting at 8 a.m. on Friday until supplies run out.
The entrance to the park can be accessed from Mayo Avenue at Orlando Avenue, just south of the Maitland Boulevard overpass.
Seminole County will open sandbag operations for residents beginning at noon on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Boombah Seminole County Sports Complex. Additional locations will be open on Thursday, if needed. Residents should bring their own shovels and plan to fill their own bags.

In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian, four locations throughout the county will be used for sandbag distribution on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday distribution hours TBA. The sandbags are free and limited to ten per household.
The distribution locations are:
- Eastern Florida State College, Palm Bay campus, 250 Community College Parkway SE Palm Bay
- Calvary Chapel, Melbourne, Viera campus, 2852 Fellowship Place
- Mitchell Ellington Park, 575 West Hall Road, Merritt Island
- Chain of Lakes Park, 2300 Truman Scarborough Way, Titusville
Residents will be able to self-fill up to 10 sandbags at West Melbourne Community Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Access to the park will be from the Minton Road and Wingate/Fell Road intersection only, westbound on Fell, through Max K. Rodes Park and eastbound on Flanagan to enter into the park from the south.
Sandbags for city residents will be available Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Club 52/Greyhound Park, 110 N. Wickham Road.
Officials are advising residents to enter the location at Sarno Road.
Self-serve sand and sandbags will be available to Flagler residents at the following locations:
· MalaCompra parking lot on MalaCompra Road in the Hammock
· Old jail site at Utility Street and Old Moody Boulevard
· Hidden Trails Community Center in Daytona North
Sandbags with bagging assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at MalaCompra Park and Hidden Trails.
Residents can pick up empty sandbags (but no sand) during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at:
· Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave., Palm Coast
· Palm Coast Utility Department, 2 Utility Drive, Palm Coast
Sand and sandbags will be available at the following self-service sand stations from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.:

· Palm Coast Public Works Yard, 1 Wellfield Grade, off U.S. 1 just north of Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast.

Sandbag fill sites will open tomorrow for Polk County residents preparing for Tropical Storm Dorian.
A maximum of 10 sandbags will be provided to each household to help prevent water intrusion into the home.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Aug. 28, the following locations will provide sand and sandbags. Please bring your own shovel.

On Monday, only the Mulberry, Lakeland, Auburndale and Dundee sites will be open. However, this could change depending on the storm's track and intensity.

New Smyrna Beach:
The City of New Smyrna Beach is providing sand and sand bags to help residents.
Sandbags will be available Thursday at 124 Industrial Park Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional sand bag distribution times and locations to follow.
Each residence and business are eligible to receive up to ten free sand bags from the city and may bring additional personal sand bags.
Clermont: Free sandbags from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 29 and 30, as well as from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 31 at West Park, 658 12th St. The park is located on the northwest corner of 12th Street and West Minneola Avenue, just west of Downtown Clermont and between the Clermont Public Works facility and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
The sand and bags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. City staff will give out up to 10 empty bags per vehicle per visit to be filled on site
