Build-A-Bear Workshop's first-ever "Pay Your Age Day" has drawn huge crowds at stores in Central Florida and across the U.S.
Build-A-Bear Workshop announced earlier this week that on Thursday kids would be able to get a Build-A-Bear that costs their age.
The promotion has led to a huge turnout at stores across the country.
At the Florida Mall, a WESH 2 News viewer said the line got to be so long, officials cut it off.
By 11 a.m. the company closed lines at all stores in the United States and Canada.
"Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some guests are disappointed, and we will reach out directly as soon as possible," the company said on its Facebook page.
The most customers will pay for a stuffed toy is $29, and the least is $1.
Everything from your basic teddy bears to the popular licensed characters are part of the deal, but the offer excludes outfits and accessories.
