The Tampa Bay Lightning (49-25-6) defeated the Boston Bruins (43-27-10) 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in Boston. With the win, the Lightning salvaged a win in their final road trip of the regular seaon.
The Bruins got the scoring started in the second period when Morgan Geekie scored to give Boston a 1-0 lead. In the third period, the Lightning answered with a goal from Brandon Hagel at the 6:37 mark to tie the game. Then Emil Lilleberg scored the game winner with just 1:35 remaining in regulation to lift Tampa Bay to a regulation win.
Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in net for Tampa Bay, converting 19 saves of the 20 shots he faced. Jeremy Swayman went 22-of-24 in net for Boston in the losing effort.
The Lightning return home for the final two games of the regular season beginning against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Red Wings is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday night at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa.
