Hurricane Beryl Expected To Slam Caribbean As Category 4 Storm

(Miami, FL) -- Hurricane Beryl is racing toward the Caribbean as a Category 4 hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center calls Beryl an "extremely dangerous" hurricane with sustained winds of 130 miles-an-hour. It's eye of the storm is now about 300 miles east-southeast of Barbados.

Hurricane warnings are posted for Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines with life-threatening winds and storm surge expected to hit the Windward islands by early Monday morning.
