Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani teamed up to deliver the first-ever live performances of their latest romantic duet, “Purple Irises,” over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The husband-and-wife duo posted a few snapshots from Stefani’s headlining Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate ahead of the game on Sunday (February 11), where the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious against the San Fransisco 49ers in overtime (25-22). Stefani also shared videos on her Instagram story of her surprise performance with Shelton at his bar, Ole Red.
“Purple Irises” made its highly-anticipated debut on Friday (February 9) after Stefani and Shelton posted teasers on their social media platforms. Stefani hinted at the collaboration with photos on Instagram that featured vibrant purple flowers, and revealed a snippet of the then-unreleased song on TikTok. She and Shelton reflect on their history together in their latest duet (adding to previously-released hits like “Happy Anywhere” and “Nobody But You”).
Stefani and Shelton met on the set of The Voice in 2014, and confirmed their relationship the following year. They announced their engagement in 2020 and got married in 2021 on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Listen to “Purple Irises” again here:
