Rays Salvage Split in Doubleheader At Fenway

The Tampa Bay Rays (41-19) defeated the Boston Red Sox (30-28) 4-2 in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday night. After Boston won the first game 8-5, the teams split the scheduled day-night doubleheader.

Tyler Glasnow got his second start of the season in the nightcap, allowing one earned run on four hits in five and one-third innings of work while striking out six and walking three. Calvin Faucher (1-1, 5.50) picked up the win out of the bullpen, while Jason Adam earned his eighth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

Tied 2-2 in the ninth, Harold Ramirez came through with a two-run double that gave the Rays a 4-2 lead that would prove to be the difference. The Red Sox got runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth but Jose Siri made a diving catch in center field and the Rays were able to hold on to the win.

The Rays and Red Sox are next scheduled to meet in the third game of a four game series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM - coverage begins with Neil Solondz hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
