Florida Unemployment Numbers Remain Steady

Florida's workforce remains strong with unemployment at 2.6-percent in April, unchanged from March according to Jimmy Heckman with the state Department of Economic Opportunity.

Heckman says about 281-thousand Floridians are currently unemployed out of a workforce of nearly 11-million.

Heckman says Florida's had a lower unemployment rate than the national average for 30 straight months and adds that six of the 10 sectors they follow gained jobs over the month.
