Three people are facing charges for allegedly scamming more than 100 senior citizens in Pinellas County.
A two-year investigation by the sheriff's office led to the recent arrests of Marvin Scott of Tampa, Chamera Bowman of St. Pete and Tammy Van Wie of Largo.
The suspects allegedly convinced the victims to pay large fees upfront in return for selling property the victims owned, but the suspects never actually sold the land. All told, investigators say the trio stole almost $ 1 1/2 million dollars from 150 victims between 2017 and 2020.
