Florida Man Faces Hate Crime Charges Over August Road Rage Incident

TAMPA -- A man accused of a road rage attack in Pinellas County last summer, is now charged with a hate crime.

A federal grand jury in Tampa indicted 29 year old Jordan Leahy on hate crime charges, for an incident last August on a road in Seminole.

Reports at the time said Leahy sideswiped a car driven by a black man, giving a Nazi salute and pretending to shoot the victim as his girlfriend and daughter looked on, later telling deputies he wanted to commit a mass shooting.

Leahy faces up to ten years and a quarter million dollars in fines if convicted on federal charges. Leahy has already served time in the Pinellas County Jail on state charges related to the incident.
