St. Petersburg police are trying to determine if a suspect in two recent homicides is a serial killer.
34-year-old career criminal Johnny Carnegie is charged in the murders of Vernon and Corlenzo Williams, but Chief Anthony Holloway says he thinks there's more to this case, and he's trying to find some answers. "After that second shooting," Holloway said, "That started keeping us up at night. When I called the FBI, when I called Tampa, it was like 'what can we do and what do you need?" Because we've got to figure this out, and figure it out now."
Carnegie was in custody in Hillsborough County on another case.
Holloway has said the investigation is still in its early stages, but says he had bad feelings about these two homicides, and was worried the same guy might come back and strike again.
