Too close for comfort is how aides of Governor Rick Scott describe his encounter with a rattlesnake while he toured a Naples sanctuary Tuesday morning.
Scott, who was speaking at Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary as part of his "Let's keep Florida Beautiful" tour, came dangerously close to an eastern diamondback rattlesnake.
The snake was just feet away from the governor as he was preparing to leave. Witnesses alerted him immediately upon seeing the snake and it slithered back into the woods. Only our cameras caught exclusive video.
The eastern diamondback rattlesnake is the largest venomous snake in North America, according to National Geographic.
