According to statistics put together by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 70 percent of binge drinking women are 26 and older.

While it sounds shocking, it’s important to understand what the government number crunchers are looking at.

Women who have just one drink a day are considered moderate drinkers.

But those who consume three to four drinks in one sitting are considered binge drinkers.

So, going out for a long dinner – with a few rounds of drinks – shows up to health officials as “binge drinking.”
